OK, so, everyday at school Samuel's teacher gives the children a happy face or a sad face in their folder. If they get happy's all week, they can go to the 'treasure chest' on Friday. Well, we all know Samuel just doesn't have it in him. We have been to the treasure chest 1 time, and that was only becuase he only went to school 3 days that week. AND, one of those days he got a 'straight line' face!!
So, yesterday, his teacher met me in the hallway when I went to pick him up and she is laughing. She tells me that he got a sad face today. She said he was cutting up at the lunch table and had to be moved to a table by himself. No suprise. She says they went to the bathroom after lunch and the conversation in the hallway went something like this...
braxton - "Mrs. Peavy, and I working on a happy or a sad face today?"
Mrs. Peavy - "Braxton, I think you are doing pretty good - you're working on a happy face."
Samuel - "Me too."
Mrs. Peavy - "I don't think so, Samuel. You weren't very good at lunch."
Samuel - "Mrs. Peavy - look. (very dramatic with his hands). I know that Mrs. Stinson told me sit down at the lunch table today, and I tried. But, my brain just wouldn't let me. Sometimes, even when I know I should, my brain just won't let me do what I'm told."
She says later, they were walking down the hallway, and Samuel just fell out in the floor. She stopped and asked him what he was doing. He said - "I was walking down this hallway, being good. And my dog and my cat came and just knocked me down. It's ok now, though, they are gone back outside."
This dog & cat are imaginary - and we take them everywhere - apparently even to school now. Now do you understand why life is so entertaining and exhausting at our house??
